Day at the High

The High in Atlanta has expanded since I left 6 years ago. I stmbled on the familiar system of ramps trying to get to the Da Vinci exhibit.

More sunday pics

More photos from the weekend using the shake it photo app… The pool, bluebird & brunch.

New apps

I fell into the iPhone last night and came out with a great app, shake it photo. I am not a big fan of the iPhone camera, it’s rathr clumsy even compared with cell phone cameras. The resolution is great but lacks control.

Shake it photo gives the appearance of a Polaroid (with sound effects and wait rime to boot). I guess the iPhone now has about as must control as a plaeoid camera. Are we regressing? If so, still some fun photos. And you can usd the app on previously taken shots, too.

Sunday Gardener

A few iPhone pics of the garden in full bloom. We’re in a state of weeding and abundance, like editing through albums of images, looking for the ripe ones. Nature parallels life once again.

Sunday is for Family

Still trying to wake up this Sunday after spending two days with the “girls”….Rodger’s girls; Maggie, Jen, Cheyenne….and me.  It was a surprise treat to have Jen and Cheyanne come through on the way back to Florida…and perfect timing for father’s day.  We ate every meal off the grill and spent as much time at the pool as we did watching movies.

I’ve posted some images that Maggie, Jen and Cheyanne took.  Maggie and Cheyanne are shutterbugs with their point and shoot cameras…taking some really awesome photos.  I hope to take the images from this weekend and make a book so we can remember the weekend.

Enjoy the photos!

Sunday from bonnaroo

At 2 pm, thee were already 20 people waiting ahead if me to get into the pit at Bonnaroo for the Springsteen set. Die hards and first timers.. we could barely contain our excitement.

They let a few dozen “industry” people in first to cries if bullshit, and when we got in, it was a row or two back from the front. It was a very tall guy who let the little girl with the ” I heart NJ” stand in front of him.

As Bruce made several trips down to us and finally brought up the Jersey girl on stage…we all realized we had the best seats in the house. (and with no camera and a dying phone, those images will remain my memory.)

Sunday Success

Warhol Museum; Andy's Lion

Warhol Museum; Andy's Lion

Spent a fabulous weekend with my fabulous husband who allowed me to do some fabulous editing work. In the photography phases of my life,  subject matter may change like the weather but one thing remains constant; I am shooting or I am editing.  To be editing provides the brain (right or left?) with much needed solace.  Not unlike the creative part of shooting, you are creating an entire new body or project.  Whether it’s a portfolio, a book, a marketing campaign…they all benefit from tight photo editing.

My mind wanders through the myriad of images we have taken at Aerial Innovations or through my own archives.  Once I have seen them several odd amounts of time, I can almost review them from memory. The strong ones remain, the weak ones fall away.  Once back with the thumbnails/contact sheets cut apart, it turns into a big memory game…which ones go together, making secret little matches.  More weak images fall away, several new surprises happen, until it is cohesive and tells a story.

I keep in mind from the beginning the skeleton of this story.  What are the images trying to say, who are they saying it to, can they complete the thought or do they need more help?  All of these componants go into the story.  If you understand, I have been successful.
